Braid in hair typically involves permanent extensions that are braided into your natural hair, giving you a long-lasting look but requiring a more significant commitment. Once they're in, you can’t easily change or remove them.

On the other hand, reusable mermaid ponytails are super fun and flexible! They’re designed to be attached and removed easily, letting you switch up your style whenever you like. You can pop them in for a special occasion or just for a day of fun, and then take them out whenever you want.

For little ones with super fine hair, especially those under 5 years old, we recommend going with 50g pieces. It’s the perfect amount, so it won’t feel too heavy for their tiny ponytails!

For kids and adults with thicker, textured, or straight hair over the age of 5, 100g is the way to go! It adds that fabulous volume and style without any fuss.

I recommend choosing the weight that best suits you or your child first. Using 2x 50g sets or 2x 100g sets for pigtails will give a nice balanced feel without being too heavy.

Yes, you can easily take out the styled hair whenever you’re ready to try a new look!

No worries, it happens. Heat, cold, and wearing your Mermaid Ponytail can put some strain on the rubber bands that keep the hair in place. If the bands become brittle or snap off, there's no need to worry—they can easily be swapped out with a clear rubber band!

Brushing

Before and after each use, gently brush your extensions using a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush. Start by holding the base where the hair is attached. Brushing/comb the ends, then move to the mid-section, and finally work your way up to the top hair tie. This technique helps remove tangles effectively, starting from the bottom prevents fiber breakage that could occur if you brushed from top to bottom.

Washing

It is safe to occasionally wash your hair pieces when they become visibly dirty. We recommend avoiding frequent washing to preserve the quality of your extensions. Only wash them when absolutely necessary to maintain their shine and softness.

Washing Tips

Use a mild shampoo and lukewarm water for washing.

Mix the shampoo into the water then immerse the hair pieces in the water. Avoiding rough rubbing or twisting. Gently 

Rinse thoroughly with cool water to remove all shampoo residue.

Immerse the hair pieces in water mixed with conditioner. Allow it to sit in the water for a minute. Then Rinse thoroughly with cool water to remove all the conditioner.

Pat dry with a clean towel, avoiding vigorous rubbing to prevent damage and lay flat to dry naturally. Do not use the Reusable Mermaid Ponytail till the hair is completely dry.

Storage

When not in use, store your Mermaid Hair Extension Ponytail in the storage bag they arrived in. This prevents tangling and helps retain their original texture and appearance. If you wish to take extra care plait the hair prior to putting them in the bag to keep them safe and secure.

Prevention of tangling

We recommend to use the hair plaited bubbled or styled to avoid extreme knotting with the child’s natural movements.

Absolutely not! Our products are for anyone who want to add a splash of colour and sparkle - kids, teens, and adults alike. Just remember for the reusable ponytail the hair needs to be long enough to tie up and for the feed in braid hair, your hair needs to be long enough to braid.
